RÉTROMOBILE

At Rétromobile, Chopard and Zagato unveiled their third collaboration: the Zagato Lab One Concept, a 19-piece limited-edition tubular tourbillon timepiece. Its architecture, inspired by racing-car chassis design—such as that of the Alfa Romeo TZ—supports the movement while optimising rigidity and reducing weight. Crafted in ceramicised titanium, this ultra-light concept translates motorsport engineering into Haute Horlogerie, pushing both technical and aesthetic innovation to their limits. The presentation, held at the Chopard booth, was completed by two automotive icons embodying Zagato’s vision across time: the 1930 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport Zagato from the Alfa Romeo Museum - which famously finished first, second and third at the Mille Miglia in the same year - and the 2025 capricorn 01 Zagato, the first hypercar ever designed by the Milanese Atelier. Another highlight from the fair was the presentation of the second prototype of the capricorn 01 Zagato at the Supercar Owner Circle (SOC), within the Ultimate Supercar Garage. Revealed just three months after its world debut at the Zoute Grand Prix in Belgium, this second prototype is finished in Giallo Sole, paired with a deep blue Alcantara interior: an extroverted expression defined by the same uncompromising, driver-focused intent.
