ZAGATO LAB ONE CONCEPT: THE TUBULAR TOURBILLON

Presented at Rétromobile in Paris, this 19-piece limited edition in ceramised titanium unites Chopard’s watchmaking mastery with Zagato’s avant-garde automotive spirit. The third collaboration between the Maison and Zagato Design Studio features tubular architecture inspired by racing car chassis, supporting the movement while optimising rigidity, reducing weight and enhancing structural safety. At just 43.20 grams including the strap, it is Chopard’s lightest titanium watch ever. The crown draws inspiration from automotive differential gears and is personalised with an engraved steering wheel, while the mainplate-dial showcases Zagato’s signature ‘Z’ motif with rhodium-plated chamfers. While the timepiece’s aesthetics evoke the sleek lines of Zagato’s iconic cars, its ‘engine’ is elevated by the L.U.C 04.04-L movement, which combines chronometer precision with titanium bridges and finishes, achieving a perfect balance of craftsmanship, design and technical innovation.
