To complete the series of the collectible Ferraris, in 2007 Zagato unveiled the Ferrari 550 Barchetta Zagato. After the six 575 GTZs, to reach the nine units, lucky and evocative number for the Atelier, three examples of the Barchetta were built, two left-hand drive and one right-hand drive. Compared to the original car, equipped with a simple canvas soft-top, useable only up to 120 km/h, the Barchetta Zagato is equipped with an electro-hydraulically controlled retractable roof, designed and built in the workshop in Milan.
