Ferrari 166 Coupé Zagato Panoramica Sanction Lost

Despite the fact that the friendship between Ugo Zagato and Enzo Ferrari dates back to the times of the Alfa Romeos of Scuderia Ferrari, twenty years before the founding of Maranello-based company, the 1949 166 Panoramica is to be considered the first Zagato bodied Ferrari. The car, commissioned by gentleman driver Antonio Stagnoli, is a milestone in the evolution of the GT coupé concept. In 1950, however, the car was lost as Zagato transformed that very same chassis into a barchetta. Thanks to the photometric process and to the support by Ferrari Classiche, the vanished coupé came back to life in 2007, to celebrate the 60 years of the Prancing Horse.
